2) Why are there so many lemurs in Madagascar?
Lemurs were brought over to Madagascar a few thousand years ago and they favored the environment and reproduced. There are hundreds of species of Lemurs in Madagascar, and that is what makes the ecosystem so unique. However, they are becoming endangered which is causing many issues in the ecosystem. 3) Why do the native peoples of Madagascar destroy the forests?
More time than not they do not know what they are doing. They don't realize that they are harming the ecosystem and destroying animals' habitats. Most of the natives hunt the animals in the tropical rainforets for food, but they don't know that most of the animals are endangered. That is why there are organizations that have implemented rules for conservation of the rainforests and organizations have gone out and educated the natives about what their actions are doing, and they are getting the natives involved with helping to preserve their home.

There are 112 bird species and a minimum of 13 species of lemurs (3)

Yes. Each tropical rainforest has the same general type of animals like monkeys, birds, and so on. However, in each rainforest there are different species. This includes different dominant species, keystone species, etc. What is endangered or alive in one rainforest may not every exist in another. It depends where it is in the world.

10) How is the Tropical rainforest Biome different than other biomes in the world?
The Tropical Rainforest Biome has a unique climate that is specific to the plants and animals that live in the biome. Each biome has it's specific climate. The tropical rainforest typically has a much warmer and humid climate because of the excessive amount of precipitation.
11) Who are the natives that live near the ZNP?
The Betsimisaraka people are a dominant ethnic group located in or around the Zahamena National Park. They are Malagasy peoples and speak a dialect of Malagasy. They live on the coast of Madagascar, and they live off of the land. Click here for more information: HERE
